Race season deserves its own manicure. This F1 edition was created in the Nails Theatre at March14 Beauty Residence in Dubai, and it pairs Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc in one set. It is also a clear answer to a question we hear often: what makes the best nail art in Dubai? An idea taken seriously, then executed with the precision of a paddock.

F1 nail art in Dubai: Verstappen on one hand, Leclerc on the other

Two hands, two drivers, two of the most recognisable numbers on the grid. The left hand is dedicated to Max Verstappen, the right hand to Charles Leclerc. Nothing is a sticker or a decal: every number, stripe and emblem is painted freehand in gel.

The left hand: Max Verstappen, number 3

Max Verstappen is a four time Formula 1 world champion, with titles won for Red Bull Racing every year from 2021 to 2024. He began his career as number 33, then carried the number 1 through his championship years. For the 2026 season he switched to number 3, the number he has long called his favourite, so wearing a 3 on your nails this year says you follow the grid closely.

That is the number our artist painted in white on deep navy, next to a sharp white emblem and a single yellow pinstripe that runs the length of the nail, taking its cue from the team livery. On the little finger, a navy stripe crossed with yellow and burgundy links his hand to the other side of the set.

The right hand: Charles Leclerc, number 16

Charles Leclerc is Monaco's own, born in Monte Carlo and racing for Ferrari since 2019 after his debut season with Sauber in 2018. His number 16 has a personal story: he was born on 16 October, and one plus six makes seven, the number he had originally hoped to race with.

His hand answers in racing burgundy, a deep take on Ferrari red, with the number 16 in white and a white emblem outlined in black. The thumb carries a clean red and white band, a nod to the colours of Monaco's flag.

What ties the two hands together is the detail between them. The middle fingers carry chequered flag French tips over a milky pink base, and the almond shape gives every graphic enough surface to read from across a grandstand. Two rivals, one set.

Why the best nail art in Dubai starts with line work

A theme like this lives or dies on its lines. The yellow pinstripe that runs along each navy nail is pulled in a single stroke with a long liner brush, so it stays even from cuticle to tip. The chequered squares are built one row at a time and follow the curve of the almond tip, so the flag bends with the nail instead of looking printed flat on top of it.

Matte first, gloss last

Halfway through, the set looks very different. Before the top coat, the navy sits in a soft satin finish, which is the moment we check every edge, every number and every stripe while corrections are still possible. Only then does the top coat go on, giving the whole set the high gloss of fresh car paint.
